Even if you insist that she’s not a burden in the slightest that may not change how she feels. Proving to your senior that she has the help that she needs whenever she needs it may take time and extra effort on your part.
Her Life Will Change.
The bottom line is that your elderly family member knows that this is going to be a big change in her life. She may not know exactly how this will change her life, but it can still be scary to face that kind of significant change. Let your elderly family member know that you’re there for her, no matter what you both decide about her future with driving.
Once you figure out what objections or combination of objections affect your senior, you can formulate a plan to get to the root of the issue. Not talking about the driving issue isn’t an option.
